Stanhope bullets were manufactured as souvenirs after the end of the war.  Developed in Europe, the Stanhope process consisted of placing small lenses and a picture (approx. 1/16" square) inside material which was then viewed exactly like the "Viewmaster" toy of our childhood only on a much smaller scale.  Our Stanhope reproductions have been manufactured exactly like the rare, coveted originals and depict noted Generals of the Civil War by looking inside the Civil War bullet or "Minie" ball.  They are a "must have" for serious Civil War collectors and never cease to amaze anyone who is lucky enough to view a Stanhope, especially one that is war related.
